WHAT IS CBD

CBD, short for cannabidiol, is a compound found in hemp plants. It is a popular supplement, because it interacts with receptors that keep the body balanced and running normally in what is known as the homeostasis state . This hemp-derived oil is made from high-CBD, low-THC hemp, unlike medicinal marijuana products, which are made from plants with high concentrations of psychoactive tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). Because hemp contains only trace amounts of THC, these hemp oil products are non-psychoactive and now legal in all 50 states of the U.S.A.

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CBD AND THC

One of the key differences between CBD and THC is whether the cannabinoid will cause a euphoric effect, or “high,” when consumed. THC does, and CBD does not. Cannabidiol (CBD) and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) are the two most prominent cannabinoids found in Cannabis, the plant genus that includes both hemp and marijuana. While there are over 100 different cannabinoids so far identified in cannabis, CBD and THC are by far the most extensively studied and best understood. Where medicinal marijuana offers beneficial treatments leveraging higher levels of THC, medicinal hemp delivers high levels of CBD and provides all the benefits of cannabinoids and terpenes without the euphoric effects of THC.

WHY WE NEED IT

There are over 100 presently discovered cannabinoids, which are largely responsible for the effects cannabis has on the body. Cannabinoids work together with the body’s endocannabinoid system to regulate the body’s natural functions – including mood, sleep, appetite, and immune response. This makes CBD one of the most important and natural occurring chemicals within the human body.
